Dream Shield Meditation for Protection and Empowerment

Dreams are potent spaces of healing, connection, processing, insight, and more. Through our dreams and subconscious, we have access to the realm of possibilities.

Our dreams and dreaming states can be exploited by intrusive parties, if we aren't actively and intentionally protecting ourselves. This can happen more than most people realize. We need to maintain our dreaming spaces as protected spaces.

I recorded this meditation recently to deal with a situation that arose when processing and cutting deeply attached past-life connections that have been used to trap and manipulate me through many lifetimes. This meditation, adapted from Denise Linn's The Hidden Power of Dreams: The Mysterious World of Dreams Revealed, is based on ancient dreamworking techniques and will help you access your dream shield and other tools for protection and empowerment in your dream life.

Note: The original text of this meditation can be found in Denise Linn's book The Hidden Power of Dreams, and it is apparent that it is based on ancient techniques. This book has some helpful tips and techniques, but is also ambiguous, shifting between presenting the dreamspace as a private, metaphorical inner space only or something more. Linn talks about being open to dream lovers and speaks of them again in a language that doesn't make it clear if she sees them as representations of her subconscious only or potentially distinct beings with whom she is connecting. Caution is required. The dreamspace is a portal that can be used to access private or other realms. Even those who present themselves as genial lovers may be part of the system of spiritosexual energetic exploitation that undergirds our fabricated reality. As with any other spirit travel, protect yourself, lay your intentions, and use your tools of discernment.
